Industrial Fasteners in Salt Lake City

Maintenance and production work often depends on having the right hardware available when equipment needs repair. Fastener Engineering supplies industrial fasteners for maintenance, manufacturing, equipment and fabrication customers throughout the Salt Lake City area.

Fasteners for maintenance and repair

Industrial maintenance frequently involves replacing worn, damaged or missing hardware on equipment that may have been in service for years. The replacement needs to match the original thread, dimensions and strength requirements while also fitting the available space.

When documentation is unavailable, bring the original fastener or complete assembly to our counter. Our article on identifying a replacement bolt or screw covers the measurements that are most useful.

Inch and metric hardware

Facilities may contain a mix of domestic and imported equipment, so maintenance teams often encounter both inch and metric fasteners. A metric bolt and an inch bolt can appear nearly identical at a glance, but the threads are not interchangeable.

Thread pitch is especially important. If a replacement starts but quickly binds, stop before damaging the tapped hole. Our guide to coarse and fine threads explains why two fasteners with the same nominal diameter can still be incompatible.

Support for fabrication and equipment work

Fabrication and equipment projects may require combinations of bolts, nuts, screws, washers and other hardware rather than a single part. Selecting components together helps ensure the threads, bearing surfaces and clearances work as an assembly.

Fastener Engineering stocks nuts and bolts, screws, washers and anchors in addition to broader industrial fastening hardware.

Reduce downtime by bringing a sample

When a machine is down, spending time trying several almost-correct fasteners is frustrating. An original part, even if broken, gives us a better starting point for matching diameter, thread, length, head style and markings.

If the fastener came from a larger assembly, bring the mating nut, washer, spacer or other related hardware when possible. That can reveal thread damage or dimensional issues that are not obvious from the fastener alone.
